Quest Apartment Hotels is accelerating its expansion across Australia, targeting a total of 200 properties by 2030. The strategy involves a dual-city push, starting construction on a new facility in Adelaide while simultaneously doubling its footprint in Canberra.
A 126-key property opened in Canberra earlier this week, marking the third location for the brand in the nation’s capital. The Quest Canberra Dickson replaces the former Adina Serviced Apartments, joining existing Quest Canberra and Quest Canberra City Walk locations.
The new development offers a mix of guest rooms, studios, and one- and two-bedroom apartments. Tenants can expect amenities like private balconies, kitchens, laundries, and dedicated living and working spaces.
Opening the doors marks the first stage of a broader refurbishment. The property is transitioning fully to Quest brand standards, which will apply to both the apartments and public areas.

“It’s great to see Australia’s largest apartment hotel operator strengthening its commitment to Canberra with the addition of Quest Canberra Dickson,” said Chief Minister Andrew Barr MLA. “This expansion is a strong vote of confidence in our city and its future.” Barr noted that the project supports the local visitor economy, creates jobs, and provides more choices for visitors.
Quest’s Managing Director David Mansfield suggested that the city has evolved beyond simple government business trips. “Canberra is no longer a one-night or one-purpose city,” Mansfield said. “People come for government, business, major projects, education and events, but increasingly stay for its food, culture, nature and distinctive neighbourhoods.”
Elizabeth Project Begins in Adelaide
Separately, Quest broke ground this week on a new property in Adelaide. The Elizabeth development is located in the northern economic corridor, an area experiencing growth in advanced manufacturing, logistics, education, and health industries.
The 87-room Quest Elizabeth will feature standalone studios and two-bedroom twin-key apartments. It includes three DDA-compliant guest rooms to address the demand for accessible accommodation. The development also includes a gym, a cafe called The Pantry, and conference facilities.

Quest is scheduled to open the Elizabeth location in March 2028. It is being developed, built, and owned by Emmett, with architecture and interior design led by Matthews Architects.
David Mansfield described the project as a significant commitment to the region. “Quest Elizabeth isn’t simply another hotel development. It’s a vote of confidence in Elizabeth, bringing Australasia’s largest apartment hotel brand and raising the bar for visitors as Adelaide’s north enters its next phase of growth.”
The rapid pace of development in Adelaide’s northern corridor signals a shift in the region’s economic outlook. While the new facility will cater to corporate and leisure travelers, the specific industries driving demand—such as defense and advanced manufacturing—suggest the accommodation needs of the area will evolve alongside its industrial base.
